Artifact Fascimilies

I’m currently working on a team that assists museums in producing highly realistic facsimiles of artifacts. These replicas are used in situations where multiple museums, cultures, or countries share a claim to a display piece, or in more experimental, artist-driven exhibitions where exhibiting the original object could pose a risk. This is just one of many pieces my team is developing, and the role has allowed me to apply both technical and creative skills across digital and traditional processes - refining and segmenting 3D scans, preparing files for printing, fabricating scaled models, and hand-painting museum-grade finishes. I’m not yet able to share many progress images (we’re awaiting approval from several museums), but here’s a sample piece we used to test scaling and construction methods. I’m excited to share more as the project progresses!
