AI to XR Experimentation

Artificial intelligence has become increasingly capable of generating images and 3D models with remarkable speed and precision. In these experimental projects, I collaborated with the descendants of Pauli Murray to create augmented reality exhibitions and digital artworks celebrating Murray’s legacy. The first image - a young girl kneeling at a grave - was generated using ChatGPT 4.0 during a live image-prompting session with the Murray family. Together, we refined the prompt iteratively until the family’s vision was fully realized. I then removed the background in Photoshop and used Tripo 3D to produce a complete 3D model of the figure, now featured as an AR exhibit within Duke’s Hidden Durham Walking Tour.
